Chickering - Jackson Cachet

After retirement from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, prolific stamp designer Charles R. Chickering became a cachet designer. His designs were printed and sold by Gladys Jackson of Jackson Cover Service, New York, N.Y.

This cachet design was modified slightly and also used for Canada's Churchill memorial stamp issued in August 1965. It also serves as the "base cachet" for the Overseas Mailer cachet.
