Winston Churchill was one of the most photographed men of the 20th century, but despite that, some photographs are used over and over again. The photograph used on this Hammond maximum card is a portrait taken on his 79th birthday in 1953. This same portrait was used on a number of worldwide memorial stamps and first day cover cachets.
